10 major religions of the world and their introduction

 The people of the world have never agreed on who is the creator of the universe. Therefore, there are different religions in the world that determine the creator of the universe according to their own consciousness and worship him in their own way. In this article, some major religions in the world and their number in the world will be mentioned.

The followers of this religion believe in one God and believe that he is the creator of the universe.

Monotheists believe that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last prophet of God and consider the Qur'an to be the word of God and the last book revealed by God.


Number 3 Hinduism

Pagans who believe in many gods as the creator of the universe number about 1.5 billion in the world, which is about 15 percent of the world's total population.

The origin of this religion is older than 500 BC and the followers of Hinduism consider many books as heavenly books.


Number 4 Buddhism

The number of Buddhists who believe in Buddha is about 521 million, which is about 5.5% of the total world population, followers of this religion follow the teachings of Buddha 


Number 5 African Traditional Religion

The number of followers of this religion is about 100 million and it was born from the amalgamation of many other religions that believe in spirits, witchcraft, medicine etc. This religion has no book and this religion's Believers are about 0.32 percent of the world's total population.


Number 6 Sikhism

Originating in the fifteenth century Punjab, this religion believes in the oneness of God and follows the teachings of Baba Guru Nanak, which he has in the form of a book known as the Guru Granth Sahib.

The total number of followers of this religion is more than 30 million and it is about 0.21% of the world population.

Number 7 Spiritism

Born in the 19th century, this religion believes in the Spiritualistic Philosophy taught by Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail of France.

Their total number in the world is 30 million and they are about 0.21% of the world's population.

Number 8: Judaism

The total number of followers of this religion who believe in the oneness of God is 14.5 million in the world and they are 0.20% of the world's population.

Jainism or Jain dharma originated in India around 900 BCE The total number of followers of this polytheistic religion is about 4.2 million and they are about 0.06 percent of the world's population.

Note: A large population of the world does not believe in any God and the number of those who do not believe in God is 1.2 billion and they are about 16% of the world population.
